The National Flag is a nation's most symbol of statehood and pride. Our flag, two equal horizontal bands of red (top) and white, similar to the flag of Monaco and the flag of Poland with white on top. It is so sacred and has so many historical meanings that we will not change our sacred colors. Change the national flag means change our past, our history.
There is one country though, which might change its national flag. It is at least the wish of NZFlag.com association. They think that the actual flag is too similar to the Australian's.
So the association fights to collect 300 000 signatures, or 10% of the number of the electors to organize a referendum. One of the proposition for the flag is the one that the All Blacks, national rugby team uses.
